Mr. Lumberjack’s big day is around the corner…and we’ve known each other for almost 3 years. It is pretty strange how we became a couple because no one would have paired us together at work. We barely talked to one another, and yet we got to know each other slowly and here we are.
And our relationship has had a lot of haters. People like to think they know what is best for us and say who we should be with. I think that only makes us closer as a couple.
Mr. Lumberjack is one of my closest friends. I can tell him my really personal, sometimes dark, thoughts. I feel like I can’t do that with all my family and friends without getting judgements. I am glad he is there for me.
We talk about a lot of things like what would happen if we ever broke up, how many kids we want and where we want to end up. There are many many things. So for his birthday, I want to say this:
Mr. Lumberjack,
I am so happy that I met you. You encourage me to be closer to my family, even though all o want to do is get far away. You push me to listen to my own voice, to ignore the ugly-hearted people and to love myself.
No matter if we end up together-forever or just platonic, you will be one of my closest friends. Who knew a chance phone call of “Do you like me or not?” led to something so long-lasting. 2018 will be a good year for us to grow together.
