Alone is OK

Hey all,

So let me tell you something beautiful. Alone time. As a self-proclaimed introvert, I need my alone time to recharge. So now Mr. Lumberjack is away for 6 weeks, I am soaking in my alone time, even though I am not technically alone…if you count the dog.

Loki, my crazy dog. I love him so much and I am pretty much a single parent for a month and a half. It is great to get all your ducks in a row and to make sure your son (yes, I call him my son) is well taken care of.

Loki and I have been pretty much on a routine.

  1. Wake up and 5 min cuddle.
  2. Feed the guy and change while he eats.
  3. Walk him in the morning.
  4. Leave for work.
  5. Come home and feed the guy again.
  6. Go on another long walk.
  7. He plays with his toys while I watch TV.
  8. I pick him (all 60 lbs) up and throw him on the bed
  9. Sleep.
  10. Repeat.

I don’t have too many people I talk to when I am home alone, but I like the quiet. I like doing things on my own and running on my schedule.

So why is this such a big deal? I have a fear when it comes to kids, because they are stuck with you for life. So I worry about being overworked, not knowing when to take a break and depending on my partner.

Times like these just validates I can do it! I go to sleep every day feeling like a boss that has a grip on her life. So don’t think you’re a loser if you’re alone sometimes. You can do anything, Miss Independent. You’re a queen.

Ciao!
