Calling all seafood lovers!
I found this amazing, secretive place called the crab cellar. OK, it isnt exactly covert, but this place’s sign isn’t gleaming on an edifice’s facade. No, it is in the basement of The Oyster Bar.
Seating is limited, so a reservation is required. The hostess will not let you do walk-ins. Instead, she will suggest the Oyster Bar, which is open to spontaneous endeavors.
Mr. Lumberjack booked for both of us online and we paid about $70 per person. I know that sounds a lot, but if you can stuff in the crabs, then do it.
So I made the mistake of eating and snacking, so when I got to the Crab Cellar, I was satiated. However, we were there for the experience. I ordered Rosé and he ordered beer and a side of macaroni and cheese.
The meal is all-you-can-eat, but this place is smart. The complimentary sides and the burgers come out first. Trust me, you can tell there is a certain pace.
Once the bucket comes out, you see giant crab legs hanging over the sides. They are easy to ctack, delicious plain and plentiful. Down about 3 buckets per person and I figure that would be worth the price.
But don’t forget about the endless burger. To. Die. For. Juicy meat, funky bleu cheese and crispy onions. I think that I could have just done with the burger as my side and chow straight into the crab.
However you want to do it, you will come out stuffed. There is no way not to. You paid the big bucks for the good food. Of course, you’re going to make every dollar count.
Let me know what you think.
Ciao
Amy
