Hi Globetrotters,
Have you seen the vortex waterfall in pictures before? I have and when given the opportunity, I immediately put this Singaporean attraction in my itinerary. The indoor waterfall lived up to everything I thought it would be. However, finding it was not easy and I honestly think I was fortunate seeing this on my way into Singapore. Otherwise, I might have suffered the same fate as this Youtuber.
From the beginning…
When I landed from my long, long flight, I still had energy and also time to kill. Therefore, I didn’t head to immigration right away. I went around the terminals looking for Jewel, where the waterfall is located. As I’m walking up and down Terminal 3 and 4, I couldn’t find any signs pointing to the attraction. Eventually, I decided to ask.
The kind lady told me that Jewel was actually outside of the airport. If I wanted to see it, I could take the Train to T1 and T2 to pass by it. At this point, a large amount of time has passed and I was worried about my checked luggage. I finally decided to head to immigration, which was a breeze.
On my way out, I saw the coveted sign to Jewel. I got my Garden by the Bay tickets (rip off in my opinion), and followed the sign. It’s quite a walk to get to Jewel and the humidity begins to get to you. When you get out of the walkway that connects to the airport, you enter a shopping center. I kept going and like a light at the end of the tunnel, the beautiful water topple down to the bottom levels.
SO. FRICKIN’. LUSH.
I took a couple of photos and then walked back to the airport in order to catch the train into the city.
Now, if I had searched for Jewel on my way back to the airport, I would have made the same mistake as that Youtuber. I didn’t want to lug around my suitcases, so I would have checked them. Then, in order to feel secure, I would have crossed through immigration. Once you pass through immigration, you won’t be able to get back out.
There lies the issue. I would have missed a great opportunity and felt super disappointed. I hope you don’t fall into the same trap and have the best time looking at the largest indoor waterfall in the world. It really is quite the sight.
