Hi Globetrotters,
Ever since my first move to Chicago, I have always been interested in home decor. I feel like I reach new style phases and I get so excited to test out my ideas with each apartment move.
I would buy cheap furniture, which at the time seemed expensive to me, and a bunch of random cheap art like that pink Octopus piece. They are in my top 3 favorite animals.
We just moved again! However, only 5 pieces of furniture made it. Two benches, a bed, a small shelving unit and our Moroccan ottoman. Mr. Lumberjack and I are starting fresh!
There is a silver lining to the travel restrictions. I can’t really travel anywhere. I find that to be great, because I would have put my money into traveling before furniture. I now have extra money -and time- to spend!
So Mr. Lumberjack and I spent some time looking for couches. We saw some cute cheap ones, but unfortunately they were made of fabric. Last time, Loki puked 3 or 4 times on our old one when he got a pineapple core stuck in his stomach. It was so hard to get the smell and stain out.
Yesyerday, we pulled the trigger and bought the couch and now the gates have opened. I am ready to pour love into this home. I can’t wait to show you the before and after. There will also be a couple of DIY projects along the way. I will make sure to share the resource if it works.
Most importantly, since we love traveling (good memories), you will see little trinkets of our travels sprinkled throughout the home. Let me know when you spot them in the before and after photos.
As you know, a home is always a work in progress, so more to come.
Ciao,
Amy
