Hi Globetrotters,
I have been counting blessings left and right this year, especially during the holidays. It’s zooming by but let’s not forget that some people are financially struggling.
One of my favorite charities of all time, Toys-for-Tots, is looking for your donation. This charity is pretty famous, but for those who don’t know, they distribute toys to children during the holidays.
What will a toy do for a struggling child? Bring comfort. Give them a companion. Expand their imagination. Send the message: You are not forgotten.
When I was younger, I didn’t have many toys, so every toy I received I cherished. I remember one year my mom’s friend came around Christmas. She gave me a Pocahontas Barbie doll and my sister got a squeaky Percy stuffed animal.
That moment was very special to me, clearly, if I remember it to this day. I felt so much joy and excitement opening the gift.
Now that I am in a spot to share Christmas Cheer, I want to pass it forward and spread good memories. Toys-for-Tots does all the supply chain for you. You just need to bring the toys.
I personally like to buy the toys. I like looking at all the cute toys, secretly thinking of buying one for myself and then rethinking of how I hate clutter. Also, the toys were hand-picked by me so it means more to me that way.
Furthermore, you can go to their website to find a local drop-off location or donate money. I think this year, due to working remotely, there are fewer drop-off locations. Keep your eyes peeled or just head to their local HQ if you live in a major city.
Happy holidays to all of you. I wish you the best end to your year.
Ciao,
Amy
